Solar Aeration

Solar aeration systems help improve dissolved oxygen levels and water circulation in ponds and lakes without requiring access to grid electricity. They are especially useful for remote ponds and properties where running electrical service would be difficult or expensive.

EasyPro offers solar aeration systems from Outdoor Water Solutions including TurboAir XL, TurboAir, NitroAir, and NightAir. These systems use solar-powered compressors to deliver air to diffusers at the bottom of the pond. As the bubbles rise, they move water toward the surface, helping improve circulation and dissolved oxygen levels.

Models range from standard daytime-only aerators to a battery-backed system built to keep running after dark. Choosing the right solar aerator depends on pond size, depth, available sunlight, and desired operating hours. Explore solar aeration systems designed for a variety of pond and lake applications.

Compare Solar Aerator Models

TurboAir XL delivers 6.8 CFM at 5 psi and is rated for depths up to 35 feet. It uses four solar panels to power two rocking piston compressors and operates when sufficient sunlight is available. With the highest airflow of these four systems, it’s designed for larger ponds and applications requiring greater aeration capacity.

TurboAir delivers 3.4 CFM at 5 psi and is rated for depth up to 35 feet. It uses two solar panels to power a DC brushless rocking piston compressor and operates when sufficient sunlight is available. It offers a lower-airflow alternative to TurboAir XL for ponds with more moderate aeration requirements.

NitroAir also delivers 3.4 CFM at 5 psi and is rated for depths up to 35 feet. It uses a solar-powered compressor with one standard solar panel and an optional second panel, operating when sufficient sunlight is available. It offers the same listed airflow as TurboAir with a different solar panel configuration.

NightAir delivers 2.2 CFM at 5 PSI and uses a solar-powered compressor with battery storage. Unlike the other three systems, it can continue operating after sunset, with up to 20 hours of daily operation under suitable conditions. It's designed for applications where extended operating hours are more important than maximum airflow.

What to Consider Before Buying

Pond Size and Depth

Larger ponds may need more airflow or multiple diffusers, while deeper ponds require compressors capable of handling higher pressure.

Sunlight Availability

Trees, buildings, and cloudy weather can affect solar performance. Choose a panel location with plenty of direct sunlight.

Operating Hours

Direct-drive systems operate when sufficient sunlight is available, while battery-backed systems can continue running after sunset.

Installation Requirements

Consider diffuser placement, airline length, and whether additional tubing or mounting accessories are needed.
